CA Lawton is seeking a skilled Foundry Engineer to support our iron foundry operations. You’ll play a key role in tooling design, process improvement, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality castings. This is a hands-on position working closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to drive results and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and revise tooling, gating, and risering layouts.
Analyze and resolve casting defects.
Support new job start-ups and continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain accurate routings, BOMs, and standard work documents.
Estimate tooling and casting job costs.
Work directly with customers to resolve dimensional or form/fit issues.
Use problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, A3, etc.) and data-driven decision making.
Stay current on new technologies and methods to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
Experience: 2+ years in iron foundry casting/tooling engineering.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of foundry processes and tooling design.
Experience with CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks, MAGMA preferred).
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Able to read and interpret blueprints.
Physically able to work in both office and shop floor environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $75,000–$90,000/year, based on experience.
