CA Lawton Minster is seeking a skilled Foundry Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations by ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality manufacturing of castings. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, supporting tooling and casting design, participating in quoting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, pattern shop, production, and leadership teams.
Essential Functions • Facilitate new job start-up and support quality/productivity improvements throughout Foundry Operations. • Develop and revise gating, risering, and tooling drawings/layouts with a focus on standardization. • Create and maintain accurate routings, bills of material, and standard work documentation. • Assist in job cost estimates for tooling and castings. • Troubleshoot casting defects and support problem-solving activities using 5 Why, Fishbone, A3, 8D, and Kata. • Support customer dimensional, machining, and form/fit issues related to tooling or equipment. • Use data-driven decision-making and leverage available technology for communication. • Participate in and sustain continuous improvement projects. • Maintain awareness of new technologies to enhance competitive advantage. • Identify and communicate process changes that improve productivity, quality, cost, and safety. • Perform other duties and manage special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies • Demonstrates company values: Honesty, Caring, Improving, Success • Understanding of foundry processes, tooling design, and operational best practices preferred • Strong commitment to process definition and disciplined adherence to procedures • Knowledge of gating/risering/chilling principles • Advanced blueprint reading and interpretation skills • Experience with CAD and flow/solidification simulation tools (SolidWorks, MAGMA preferred) • Effective communication skills and strong teamwork • Flexible, ethical, and able to adapt to change • Proficient in necessary information systems • Ability to pass a physical exam and pre-employment substance screen
Salary: $75-90K Depending on experience
Skills & Experience:
Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, Industrial Arts, etc., accepted with additional experience
Experience: • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an iron foundry preferred
