Join an Exciting Career in Accounting! CA Lawton is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position collaborates closely with management and other accounting staff to deliver timely and accurate financial results.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitates and completes monthly close procedures which includes preparing and posting journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts as needed for two site locations
Responsible for preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule including analysis results
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for checking and payroll accounts.
Assists with preparation and data collection for various external audits
Assists in monitoring internal controls and advises Controller of suspected or confirmed control or fraud issues
Responsible for the coordination of physical inventories and follow up and recording results
Maintains fixed asset activity including tracking projects and processing additions and disposals in Asset Keeper fixed asset system for multiple sites
Reconcile credit card payments and code to proper account
Payroll Support
Assist with various regulatory reporting (workers comp audit, 401k uploads, etc).
Assist with payroll processing questions and issues as needed.
Coordinate and communicate special payroll timing, needs, and changes to the organization as guided by the Accounting and/or HR Manager
Accounts Receivable and Return Activities
Process customer invoices daily and credit memos as needed
Post all cash receipts and monitor the accounts receivable aging for timely collection
Customer communication on past due amounts
Additional Responsibilities
Complete all requested internal and external reporting
Assist with centralized Accounts Payable questions as needed
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
